We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant / Manager – Public Practice on behalf of our client in Winnipeg.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced CPA looking to join an established public-practice firm in a role that offers meaningful client exposure, career growth, and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility.
Our client is open to candidates at either the Senior Accountant or Manager level, depending on experience.
The Opportunity
You’ll work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing accounting, assurance, tax, and advisory services. The successful candidate will have strong public-practice experience and be comfortable taking ownership of engagements and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and review compilation and review engagements, including financial statement preparation and file review
- Provide corporate tax planning and advisory services, including reorganizations, elections, and tax rollovers
- Prepare and/or oversee corporate tax returns (T2)
- Apply strong knowledge of ASPE and CPA Canada Handbook standards
- Provide accounting, tax, and business advisory support to clients
- Manage client relationships and engagement deadlines
- For Manager-level candidates, provide leadership, mentorship, and review of junior staff
Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- Strong public-practice accounting experience
- Solid assurance experience, particularly compilation and review engagements
- Strong Canadian corporate tax experience
- Experience with tax planning and advisory work
- Proficiency with CaseWare / CaseView, TaxCycle, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements
- Leadership or staff-review experience is an asset for Manager-level candidates
