Hays has partnered with a well-established custom home builder known for delivering thoughtfully designed, high-quality residences throughout Calgary. They are seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their collaborative team and lead projects from concept through construction. This role offers the opportunity to work on unique custom homes, producing detailed construction documents, coordinating with consultants, and collaborating closely with internal teams. *this is an in office position with flexibility
Responsibilities:
- Develop custom home designs from concept through construction documentation.
- Produce permit and construction-ready drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and site plans.
- Coordinate structural, mechanical, and consultant information into architectural drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with Alberta Building Code, Land Use Bylaws, and municipal requirements.
- Support Development Permit and Building Permit applications.
- Collaborate with Estimating and Construction teams to align designs with budget and construction requirements.
- Identify and resolve design, coordination, and constructability issues.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting quality standards and project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience, custom residential design is a strong asset
- Proven ability to take projects from concept through construction documentation independently.
- Strong understanding of wood-frame residential construction and detailing.
- Solid knowledge of the local code and current land use bylaws for Calgary.
- Experience preparing permit and construction drawing packages.
- Proficiency in Revit is required.
- Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package $85,000 - $100,000, extended benefits and a flexible working environment. A great opportunity for someone that is wanting to work in a multi-faceted position on a smaller team.
