Title: Senior Communications Specialist, Technology (12-Month Contract)

One of Canada's Big 5 banks is looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to join its technology organization on a 12-month contract, with a chance to extend. You'll support a technology group behind the bank's commercial banking and credit platforms, and you'll be the person who makes that work clear, visible and meaningful to the wider business.

You'll work with the communications lead to keep a steady flow of content moving across channels, from release notices to leadership messaging.
What you'll do
- Draft, edit and coordinate pre- and post-production release communications
- Write weekly achievements content for newsletters and other internal channels
- Contribute to leadership updates, articles, announcements and town hall messaging
- Build and polish PowerPoint presentations on group strategy, including simple visuals and infographics
- Gather input from technical and business stakeholders and translate it for non-technical audiences
- Track the communications schedule, approvals, dependencies and deadlines across multiple reviewers
What you bring
- 5–7 years of communications experience, with a focus on internal, employee or technology communications
- Writing that is clear and concise, with a straight-talk, storytelling style that shows the value of technology work
- Working knowledge of technology concepts such as application development, migrations and cloud, and the ability to explain them in plain language
- Strong skills in Outlook, Teams and especially PowerPoint
- A track record of managing several stakeholders, priorities and deadlines at once without anything slipping
- A post-secondary degree in communications, PR, journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Financial services or large-enterprise technology experience is a strong asset
The details
- 12-month contract with a chance to extend
- Hybrid: 2 days a week onsite in downtown Toronto (Mondays plus one other day)
- Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week
- $40–$45/hr on T4, or up to $55/hr incorporated
- Immediate start
Why this one
You'll see a wide range of business groups and sit between technology and the business. It's a good fit if you want to deepen your tech comms experience inside a large, established organization.
