Senior Project Manager – Finance Regulatory (Tax)
Toronto, ON | Hybrid, onsite downtown Wednesdays and Thursdays
12-month contract, with potential to extend or convert to permanent
$60–$72/hr on T4, or up to $87/hr Inc.
My client, one of Canada's Big 5 banks, is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join its Finance PMO and lead delivery for the Tax project team. You'll work directly with the Global Head of Tax and senior directors on complex regulatory projects, some of them international, from initiation through closure.
This role is for someone who has done this before at scale. You'll own the plan, run status reviews, flag problems early and recommend how to fix them, without anyone looking over your shoulder. You'll join an established PMO of 12, about half of them project managers.
What you'll do
- Lead complex Finance regulatory projects end to end: initiation, requirements, design, build, testing, implementation and closure
- Work with business leaders to set measurable benefits and track them through the project lifecycle
- Manage schedule, budget and risk, spotting issues early and driving mitigation
- Build trusted relationships with senior Tax stakeholders, Finance partners and Technology teams
- Prepare and deliver executive presentations on status, changes and milestones
- Run meetings that end with clear decisions and owners, and negotiate deliverables across a matrixed stakeholder group
- Coach and mentor project team members
What you bring
- 10+ years of project management experience delivering large, complex projects
- Experience delivering regulatory projects at a large bank in a Finance area such as Controllership, Tax or Treasury
- Confidence influencing senior leaders and bringing a wide set of stakeholders along
- Strong analytical judgment: you can weigh trade-offs and resolve issues quickly
- Flexibility to support UK or APAC time zones on international projects
- A degree in a related field
Nice to have
- PMP designation
- Tax compliance or tax regulatory project experience, such as a global e-invoicing solution
