JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong Snowflake expertise and a solid understanding of Data Governance to support a major Wealth/Asset Management data initiative. This role will focus on organizing and governing critical data assets, including PII and confidential data, while helping build the governance framework, data lineage, and enterprise data structure within Snowflake. Key Responsibilities • Assess and reverse engineer existing data models and datasets to establish a current-state data architecture. • Document data assets, data flows, lineage, and governance processes within Snowflake. • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define and implement a scalable data governance model. • Classify and organize sensitive data, including PII and confidential information, according to enterprise standards. • Support the buildout and monitoring of governed data assets and data products. • Work closely with Data Governance, Business, and Engineering teams to adapt existing governance frameworks for Wealth Management use cases. • Contribute to the delivery of a key MVP targeted for January/February. • Support ongoing monitoring and maintenance efforts post-implementation.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Developer. • Strong hands-on Snowflake experience, including data modeling, data architecture, and SQL development. • Experience with data governance, metadata management, data quality, and data lineage. • Experience documenting current-state and future-state data architectures. • Proficiency with SQL and modern data management tools. • Ability to interact directly with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience with Manta or other data lineage/metadata management tools. • Background in Wealth Management, Asset Management, or Financial Services. • Experience governing enterprise-wide data assets containing sensitive customer information. • Exposure to AI, analytics, research, or competitive intelligence data initiatives.
