Senior Networking Consultant

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Networking Consultant to support the configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure. The resource will work closely with the client’s technical team to implement network changes, resolve complex connectivity issues, and ensure the reliability and performance of the network environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, install, and connect Aruba and Cisco switches, routers, and related network infrastructure.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto (PAN) firewalls and Cisco FTD firewalls.
- Perform network configuration changes, upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, switching, firewall, and performance issues.
- Analyze network issues and implement appropriate corrective actions with minimal disruption to operations.
- Validate network connectivity and functionality following installations, configuration changes, or troubleshooting activities.
- Work alongside the client’s networking and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents and technical issues.
- Support the integration and connectivity of network devices across the enterprise environment.
- Review existing configurations and identify potential improvements to network stability, performance, and security.
- Assist with testing, deployment, and validation of network changes in accordance with client requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting activities.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to the client’s technical team as required.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with established change management, security, and operational procedures.
- Participate in onsite activities within the Calgary area, including support at client data centre locations when required.
Required Technical Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with Aruba and Cisco switching technologies.
- Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Experience with Cisco FTD firewalls.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including switching, routing, VLANs, IP addressing, and network connectivity.
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex network and firewall issues.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and infrastructure teams.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
