Job Description Insight Global is seeking a People & Performance Benefits Specialist to join a leading insurance organization in Surrey, BC.
About the Role
This individual will serve as the subject matter expert for employee benefits programs, partnering closely with HR, Payroll, vendors, and leadership to ensure the successful administration, enhancement, and compliance of the organization’s total rewards offerings. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in benefits administration, disability management, and vendor relations, along with a passion for creating a positive employee experience through competitive and effective benefits programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, retirement, wellness, and leave-related benefits
- Coordinate new hire benefit enrollments, employee life event changes, retiree benefits, and ongoing employee support
- Maintain and validate benefits data within the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Partner with Payroll to manage benefit deductions, reconciliations, and reporting
- Lead annual and bi-annual benefits processes, including open enrollment and renewals
- Work closely with external vendors and brokers to evaluate plan performance, negotiate renewals, and recommend program enhancements
- Analyze market trends and employee feedback to improve benefits offerings and support attraction and retention strategies
- Support mergers and acquisitions by conducting benefit comparisons, recommendations, and employee communications
- Develop and manage employee wellness initiatives and programs
- Administer disability management programs, including short-term disability, long-term disability, workers' compensation, and leave of absence processes
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation, benefits regulations, and company policies
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in employee benefits administration, compensation, total rewards, or HR benefits
- Strong knowledge of group health, dental, retirement, disability, and wellness programs
- Experience managing benefits vendors, renewals, and employee benefit communications
- Understanding of employment legislation and benefits-related compliance requirements
- Experience working with HRIS systems and benefits data management
- Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) designation or working toward completion
- CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation or working toward completion
- Experience supporting benefits programs during M&A integrations
- Experience developing employee wellness initiatives and engagement programs
- Background working within a large, multi-location organization
Pay range and compensation package
Pay range starting at $70,000/yr.
