The Wind Scientist or Wind Engineer will be responsible for completing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations related to wind, snow, and air quality studies. The role will be involved in all aspects of simulation model preparation, meshing, CFD simulations, and technical report writing.
Responsibilities
- Undertake CFD analyses required for projects, including:
- Understanding, interpreting, and manipulating architectural drawings (2D and 3D).
- Assessing the accuracy of simulation models from 2D drawings and 3D architectural models.
- Setting up simulations in ANSYS CFX.
- Analysing and post-processing simulation results.
- Use and modify MATLAB-based programs as needed to combine CFD data with meteorological data and analyse results with respect to various criteria.
- Collaborate and communicate with other team members to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Develop conclusions and recommendations and prepare technical reports in a timely fashion and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Most reports will be written in English; some will be published in French, as required.
- Develop custom MATLAB codes and/or CFD simulations to support project work, as required.
