About The Opportunity
The Project Manager L5 / Lead IT Project Manager will lead large, complex programs that support enterprise strategy and business value across McKesson. This role will oversee multiple projects within a broader program, partner with leadership and sponsors, and strengthen portfolio governance through automation, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage large, complex programs, ensuring projects align with strategic goals and deliver enterprise value.
- Partner with leadership to evaluate proposed and existing initiatives and support investment decisions based on business value and priorities.
- Collaborate with project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders to resolve escalated issues and mitigate cross-program risks.
- Optimize resource allocation across programs to improve efficiency and maximize organizational benefit.
- Lead portfolio governance, dependency management, reporting, and continuous improvement using automation, analytics, and AI-powered insights.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Expertise in program management and portfolio governance, including planning, execution, and strategic alignment.
- Experience managing large, complex programs and portfolios in technology or regulated environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate across leadership and delivery teams.
- Ability to apply data-driven insights, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics to support prioritization, risk mitigation, and decision-making.
- Strong understanding of enterprise methodologies, governance frameworks, compliance standards, and continuous improvement practices.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with AI-assisted stakeholder communication, predictive dependency mapping, or cognitive project management practices.
- Familiarity with enterprise portfolio management tools, predictive analytics platforms, and governance reporting solutions.
- Experience embedding automation and analytics into executive reporting and portfolio decision-making processes.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in project and program management.
- Technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry experience preferred.
- Experience leading large-scale programs, project portfolios, governance reporting, resource planning, risk management, and executive stakeholder engagement.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant project or program management certifications are preferred, where applicable.
