Our client, an reputable civil construction contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia, is seeking an experienced General Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and oversight across multiple civil construction projects.
- Manage and mentor Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
- Oversee projects involving underground utilities, earthworks, excavation, road construction, site servicing, and drainage systems.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other field resources across active projects.
- Work closely with Project Managers to develop construction plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, costs, and schedules, addressing potential delays or operational challenges.
- Support project start-up, construction planning, execution, and closeout activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure all work complies with project specifications, quality standards, environmental requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Promote and uphold company Health, Safety & Environmental standards across all project sites.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in civil construction.
- Strong experience overseeing underground utilities, earthworks, excavation, roadworks, site servicing, and related civil scopes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, equipment, sequencing, scheduling, and production planning.
- Experience coordinating labour, equipment, subcontractors, materials, and project resources.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project management teams, clients, consultants, and field personnel.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Lower Mainland as required.
