Medical Surgical
Position Summary:
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) – Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) provide direct patient care to individuals with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. They monitor patients’ health status, administer medications and treatments within their scope of practice, assist with wound care and daily activities, document patient information, and collaborate with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with medical and surgical conditions.
- Monitor and document patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition.
- Administer medications and treatments within the LPN scope of practice.
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical procedures.
- Support patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN license in the applicable province or jurisdiction.
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Strong knowledge of patient care, medication administration, and clinical procedures.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
