Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Russell Tobin is seeking experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurses (Med-Surg RNs) for travel assignments across British Columbia. This opportunity is ideal for nurses who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in acute care settings while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and treatment progress.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor for changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Current registration and good standing with BCCNM.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new healthcare environments and workflows.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Experience in acute care hospital settings.
- ACLS Certification.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
Position Details
- Assignment Length: 4-13 Weeks (Potential Extension)
- Schedule and Shifts: Full-time hours (80 Hours Bi-Weekly) with rotating shifts based on operational needs
- Compensation: CAD $49-$60 per Hour
