Registered Care Aide (RCA)
Quesnel, British Columbia
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Registered Care Aides (RCA) to join healthcare teams in Quesnel, British Columbia. These contract opportunities offer competitive compensation and the chance to provide high‑quality, person‑centred care in acute care and long‑term care settings. RCAs play a vital role in supporting patient comfort, dignity, and daily living needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration support
- Perform safe patient transfers, positioning, and ambulation using appropriate equipment
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Promote patient comfort, dignity, and emotional well‑being
- Maintain a clean and safe care environment
- Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Follow care plans, infection control practices, and safety protocols
- Accurately document care provided in EMR systems
Schedule
- 80 hours bi‑weekly
- Rotational and flexible scheduling based on facility requirements
Qualifications
- Active registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant / Resident Care Aide program
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of recent care aide experience preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient‑focused approach to care
Requirements
- Availability for rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- Physical ability to meet the demands of personal care and patient handling
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and quality standards
- Willingness to work across different care units as required
Compensation & Contract Details
- Pay Rate: $25–$35 CAD per hour (based on experience)
- Contract Duration: 1 month (possible extension)
- Overtime: As per provincial guidelines
- Holiday Pay: As applicable
- Travel & Housing Support: Housing allowance (reimbursed), where applicable
- Travel reimbursement for approved expenses
