Registered Nurse (RN) – Forensic Psychiatry
About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) professionals specializing in Forensic Psychiatry to join a healthcare organization in New Brunswick. Classification: Registered Nurse
Salary: $47 to $54 per hour
Schedule: Rotational shifts (8-hour or 12-hour shifts).
Work schedules may be modified to meet operational requirements.
Language Requirement: Bilingual Essential (French and English)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care within a forensic psychiatric environment.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Support patient rehabilitation, recovery, and risk management initiatives.
- Respond effectively to crisis situations using approved intervention techniques.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
- Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current registration and membership in good standing with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNB).
Certifications:
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) – Advanced Techniques Certification.
- Training in the Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviour in Psychiatric Hospitals.
Language Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience in forensic psychiatry, mental health, psychiatric nursing, or related clinical settings preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and crisis management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
